Misrepresentation of city.

Football Manager have MANY researchers, and every 'bigger' club is reviewed more than once by multiple people to ensure fair and consistent ratings. Though there are going to be one or two iffy ratings (like Balotelli's first touch), the vast majority are okay. Putting it down to bias is just wrong.

Besides, how wrong could our ratings be if some managers can win the domestic treble and get to the Europa League final in their first season? Ithankyouverymuch.
And fwiw, Balotelli isn't worth keeping.

I guess the Balo one is weird however I'd personally agree with the Yaya one. Bebe ends up has a no mark though ;-)

Really?!?!?! Mancini often lauds him as one of the best in the team (because he is)....
"The Modern football artists are Messi, Ronaldo, David Silva, Yaya Toure...."

Just because he's got a gifted physique, people automatically denounce any creativity he may have. He's the most creative central playmaker in city and now, probably the best. Certainly more so than Carrick, Barry, Barton etc....

He's world class. The stats don't show that.

Well.... tbf, it's a transfer update (unofficial, but revered.) and Balotelli, you'll see, is worth keeping :-).

Uhh...the guy who draws up the City stats is a season ticket holder at Eastlands, and he works very hard to make the stats fair.

What a lot of people don't realise about FM is that there are the visible stats and then there are hidden stats relating to a player's ability and potential. If a player's stats are too high for their overall ability rating, the game rounds down their visible stats to suit the ability rating. It's a bit like playing a pen and paper game where you have 10 stats but only 100pts to spend on raising them if your potential is 100 (out of 200). Even if it doesn't represent how well rounded a player you are, the game won't let your total score get too high.

The Manchester city researcher is a Manchester city fan so it has NOTHING to do with our " reputation "

sorry guy above me beat me to it. i've spoken to the researcher at great length on a couple of occasions he is a fair bloke. also if you look pre 11.3 Yaya is EVEN WORSE and that was rated by the Football club Barcelona researcher.

the FM database is put together by Sports interactive and professional scouts.
it is the job of 5 head scouts to mark each professional footballer that exists in the game.
Each head scout has some 20 scouts working for him and it is as a team that they gather the stats.
Some do via club scouts (see below) but in general it is done by the 5 main scout teams.
All the results are fed into a database to form an average mark from the scouts. these are the figures that you see in the game!

If a player has been given a mark of say 'Speed - 15', then there is a good chance that the mark is an average of 20-30 different opinions.
The only thing to consider is that the stats are technically a year old when the game is released.
Scouts are currently marking players for the 2012/2013 season to allow game designers and programmers time to create the database from which the game runs. Scouts take up to an entire season th finalise their results!
You therefore may find that the new FM version out this year (Nov) will reflect Yaya stats from last season.

CLUB SCOUTS:
Because of the sheer number of players in the game, SI (Sports Interactive) obtain a rough guide from clubs on which to form an evaluation.
This is mainly done through professional associations.
The club scouts provide the stats and the designers may modify these based on video footage.
This is done mainly for lower foriegn leagues (eg. Polish Div4)!

Not sure where you got this from, but I can categorically state that this isn't the case. Over the last several years I've spent a fair bit of time feeding the City researcher with info on signings and commercial deals and the like, and he has stated on multiple occasions that he and only he is responsible for giving City players their scores - and it's the same with other clubs. In fact, SI are quite open in that they don't do the scoring themselves and they get forum members to fill the club researcher posts that come available (when other forum members leave the same positions). SI couldn't afford to hire professional scouts, especially not 5 head scouts and 20 assistants per head at a total of 105 scouts. SI have also previously been quite open before about their small budget and small staff. 105 scouts hired just to score players for the game? Utter nonsense.
