No. I bet him a grand that the Tories would win the 2015 GE, which I was lamentably correct about.

It wasn’t one of those bets that was made and never mentioned again. It was mentioned leading up to the election.

And I would have 100% paid up if I had lost the bet.

Lost a monkey in a Forest/City bet at a Trent Bridge Test Match (must have been the summer of 1997) to someone I had never met before, who I’d met through a mutual friend, about who would finish the highest the following season (Forest were champions and we got relegated!). Was very pissed, obviously!

Paid him up in full, in readies, the following May, even though I never saw him in the intervening period. And I’ve never seen him since.

But a bet is a bet, and if you make it, and the consequences aren’t going to financially ruin you and your family, then man up and pay your fucking dues.
