MLB 2025

If American football is a game of inches, baseball is a game of millimetres. Had Smith not got his spikes back down on home plate, I’m not sure his subsequent home run would have ever happened.

Incredible ending to an incredible Series, and an incredible season.

This has been the best WS since Indians-Cubs in 2016

More of an American Football fan but have to say last night’s game 7 was very entertaining. Even though I was rooting for the Blue Jays that was some drama & skilled baseball.

The sport definitely went up a few notches in my books.

LOL. If you say so.
I mean, if City paid Haaland a fiver a week, with the premise of paying him the rest of his wages after he left, then yes, people could say the same about City.

But they don't, no football club does. So equating the Dodgers to City is a false equivalency and dare I say something people may use to help them cope.

It's an undeniable advantage having the market LA does, paying the luxury tax they do.

No football club does because its against the rules. It's not against the rules of baseball.

What football clubs do is front load sponsorships, back load wages etc. They structure payments to suit their particular circumstances. As long as it's within the rules. Fair play to them.

As for coping I dare say there is plenty of similarities between City fans coping with people complaining about the money we spend and Dodger fans coping with people complaining about the money they spent.

It's not too difficult.

Didn't say it was against the rules

Just that it's an undeniable advantage, which it is.

There's no broke owner of a baseball team, they can spend what they want if they don't care about bleeding money for the most part. When your market and revenue is a pittance compared to others, however, factored in with those teams (which isn't exclusive to the Dodgers) that pay a high luxury tax as well, it's not exactly an equivalent to anything in football and once again, an immense advantage to those teams over many others in the league that will lose those stars they develop to teams like the Dodgers.

You're a Dodgers fan, you'll enjoy it. Any fan whose team does or did similar would too as it's bringing success. Just don't be ignorant to the actual advantage you have to most other teams.

It's because I know what advantages the Dodgers have (advantages every other team could use if they wanted) that your "what a victory for the underdog" comments were so amusing.

No Dodger fans thinks we're the underdog, or cares that we're not. I dont expect neutrals to be celebrating Dodger success much like I dont expect neutrals to celebrate Ciry success.

As for last night not being a success for the underdogs, I couldnt care less and I dont even need to pretend. As a Dodger fans for 30 years plus, it was brilliant.

(advantages every other team could use if they wanted)

Literally not true. Does every team have an $8billion local television deal?

You're hung up on thinking every time can just defer payments etc and that's true. But "every other team" literally cannot spend like the Dodgers.

It's fundamentally impossible for them and their "share" of the market.

Your understanding of that is amusing.

OK cool. I'll try and enjoy the win as best I possibly can. Fuck knows what I'll do if we can get a result against Bournemouth given the advantages we have over them, but let's cross that bridge if and when we need to. :D

Stayed with it all night great entertainment gutted for the Jays to loose 2 on the bounce at home will hurt.
Is it true that Geddy has cancelled the LA gigs ?
