City, the Mets
It's our year boys. With a balanced lineup and lights-out rotation like this what could possibly go wrong.

Well with the big move yesterday for Framber and Skubal winning his arbitration case today, looks like the best pitcher on the planet will be traded hence the early move for Valdez.

Just don't let it be the Yankees or Dodgers

Who is likely to be in for him? Gonna take some serious trade for him isn’t it?

I would think the Mets still have some interest, as realistically all the staff are question marks besides Peralta (McLean was great last year but still young, God knows with the rest of these guys).

I think the start to the season will dictate what happens and for how much, given our payroll will take a massive jump with his arbitration case.

If we start off well, I could see them riding out the season and lose him to free agency and go all in.

If we don't and start slow then he and his contract will be a burden they'll look to shed and I think depending on the team and how much he will push them to "win now" mode this season, that'll dictate the haul.

I genuinely don't think the Dodgers can do it with a luxury tax already hitting 110% and one top 20 prospect. It'll take someone on their roster, a few of them, to make a deal.

I think the Valdez deal gives us either a great 1-2 pitching rotation and chance to improve on last season and at worst gives us a solid pitcher should we lose Skubal.

I just wish Boras would negotiate a shorter contract because I think a deal would have been long ago.

He was solid last year. 29 GS and a respectable ERA.

Shame Mets let Nimo go he had more giddy up in left field than Sato in right .
Agreed. The rumor was clubhouse trouble, but now we're left without an equivalent replacement in corner outfield and too many middle infielders.

Churlish to complain about an off-season where we brought on Bichette and Peralta but there are a lot of question marks for me.

thanks for that WT86

Only one team good enough to chase Paul Skenes in the first inning. Undefeated season incoming.

@pudge is Mcgonigle the real deal? Seen so much hype on him and he’s having some opening day.
You bet he is, absolutely crushed the minor leagues, plate discipline and solid contact, just a hitting machine really with well above average fielding.

All ifs and buts, however, would have loved him in the playoff roster last season especially when the likes of Greene went ice cold at the plate and they took Jace Jung the previous season.
