Modric to the scum

Miles better than Barry.

I don't know how anyone could deny that.

Apples & oranges.
Actually not really especially as we rely on Barry to read the game in front of him and get things started. That's what Modric is very good at doing.

Also, the entire Croatian team was obviously instructed to play tight the first half to prevent tiredness in the second half from chasing Spain as well as to keep the score close. He did his job and he did it well.

Erm actually yes really.

For starters every player on the pitch is required to 'to read the game in front of him and get things started'. Thats how the game works.

Secondly, Barry has a few categories to his game that Modric doesn't such as covering, tracking back, breaking things up. Modric has a category that Barry doesn't ie 'flair', creativity whatever you want to call it.

If you want to compare Modric's style to someone that'd be Scholes, but without the goal scoring aspect.

Comparing Modric's style to Barry's is like comparing Nasri's to Fletcher's.

How can you say Modric is better than Barry? Two total different players. If Modric was to be compared with one of ours then it's Yaya.

You know very well that I'm only saying they're comparable, i.e. they are valid subjects for comparison, in that they're deep-lying playmakers. Personally? I prefer Barry as he provides better cover for the defense.

Um... I didn't? I said they at their natural positions perform similar roles. They set the stage.

Barry is not a playmaker. Barry is a defensive midfielder. His role is to support the playmakers.

He wasn't talking to you.

Modric is no creater he is miniscule with Barry-like stats and not near the physical & defensive presence Barry is. Honestly I would love to see United blow whater little cash thy have on this, get a more expensive team than we have(which they already do). Shame is only when city win are accused of buying the title.

And to set the stage. We often check back to him to restart an attack. Do others do this? Over the course of a game, yes, but he does it reliably and well. What's controversial about this?

Thank you for clarifying. :)
