Modric to the scum

I can safely say that if Modric's name was Modricinho then there would be no debate; Foreign players with cool, flamboyant names like Moutinho,Hazard and Hulk are over-rated beyound belief and this is often led by the FM fan boys.

You do realise Modric isn't English don't you?

Can Moutinho play in a 4-4-2? and his buyout is £35million and he is an inferior player to Modric in my opinion, Also nobody knows how Moutinho will adapt to the Premier League and the standard of the Portugese league leaves a lot to be desired, Regarding the comparison with yaya, I personally can't see it as they are 2 completely different players.

Modric has outperformed Moutinho playing in an inferior side to him so far in the Euro's, Modric is twice the player Moutinho is and I can safely say that if Modric's name was Modricinho then there would be no debate; Foreign players with cool, flamboyant names like Moutinho,Hazard and Hulk are over-rated beyound belief and this is often led by the FM fan boys.

Can you name the "many players on the continent" that have the same ability as Modric and are realistic signings?

I am never going to convince a myopic Spurs fan that Moutinho is better. IMO he’s better. at knitting play together, more he’s incisive passer, reads the game and doesn’t spend half the game hiding. Out of interest, what aspects of Modric’s game make him ‘twice the player’ Moutinho is?

Modric is talented, without a doubt. I wouldn’t mind him at City as he could do a decent job. But I just don’t see him as the world great that Spurs fan see. In terms of his ability, I’d place him two or three rungs below the likes of Yaya, Silva and Aguero. They are elite players.

I keep hearing that he is ‘unique’ because he plays in the middle of a 442. He played in that position against us at WHL last season. Our midfield had a field day and we won 1-5. Did he not play in the middle of a 442 against

Can you provide any examples where Spurs have beaten a top team with Modric in the middle of a 442?

IMO put him in the team as part of a midfield three, and he would be more effective. He needs to move to a big club IMO so that he can move on to the next level. He's not been helped by having Redknapp as a manager.

RE your dig about me being a FM fan boy: I can assure you that I am not a particular fan of Hulk or Hazard.

Nearly everybody with common sense knows that Modric was nowhere near in the right frame of mind to play that game.

Regarding matches where Modric has played well in a 2 man central midfield; The performance vs Inter Milan springs to mind along with the demolition job of Newcastle last year and the win against Arsenal at home last year.

Also Modric played a vital role in the 2nd half turnaround at the Emirates when we went 2-0 down and won 3-2.

The performance against Liverpool at Anfield in the season before where the likes of United and City got beat and Spurs dominated the match and won 2-0.

Modric is a fantastic player and he is under-rated on this forum for some strange reason.

Don't let the facts get in the way will you Dave. City drew at Anfield - in fact we scored both goals! In a 1:1 draw.

Erm, he said the season before, which is, i'm guessing, when Liverpool beat City 3-0?

Modric falls apart against the better teams, like a lot of Spurs "stars". Good player, but over-rated by a lot.

I never wrote that.

Indeed Modric is twice the player that Moutinho fella is

Moutinho had a good game against the Czech Republic; Let's see what he does against Spain or stronger opposition before comparing him with Modric.

Modric is a quality player no doubt but can you honestly say his contribution thies season matches the hype that surrounds him - much of Modric's adulation is quite simply because of your ex media whore manager whom for some reason the press hung on every word
