And at United he will play further upfield if only for the fact that he will be playing for Utd. There will be plenty of times when Modric is played in the attacking midfield role as well.

If you are so hung up about the rags and where you think they will play him, then you must be one, personally I don't give a fook what they do, it's about City.

you havent been on bluemoon long if you think people dont give a fook about the rags ;) theres pretty much a thread every day on them

Maybe I don't suffer from paranoia and maybe now we've won the Premier League neither will you. Believe in your own club and look forward.

Must have been a quiet news day for The Sun!

Levy is no mug, if United are daft enough to go for this overrated fraud, he will ensure it's closer to the money Chelsea were offering.

Modric is shite and United would have yet another central midfielder who can't score goals.

What they need is a Yaya not a lightweight who drifts left every time the going gets tough.

Remind me again how Modric has carved us apart in recent seasons?

Stick to transfer rumours, TH. Modric is top quality in the Scholes of ten years ago bracket. He's exactly what they need right now. Just because he might be going to the scum, doesn't suddenly mean he's shite. If we signed him, then everyone on here would be chuffed. I've watched him closely at our place for the last 3 seasons and he never gives the ball away, comfortable in tight spaces, always looking to play someone in, inch perfect passing ability, can drop of or make runs into the box, controls the game from the center.

IMO much better than Sneidjer and Schweinsteiger as he has premiership experience. Can't tackle for shit, but neither can Xavi or Iniesta. If they get him for 25m, then I can see one of their lot going the opposite direction. (Carrick)

Unbelievable, so you are basing your analysis on watching him against us for three seasons?

To mention him along Scholes is just ridiculous. Modric is no youngster, Scholes was doing it from the age of 20.

He is exactly not what United currently need and any United fan who does tell you that is simply lying or knows nothing about football, simply because they might be signing a 'big' name.

I've watched Modric at close quarters (live) for years, as I have with some of the very best, so please don't be arrogant enough to tell me to stick to transfer rumours.

Again, you also mention Sneijder and Schweinsteiger, football is all about opinions, but you are clearly seeing something which is not there.

He is a careful water carrier, and United will have nobody in the middle to protect him, as Parker has done.

Modric has been "doing it" for years. He's a seasoned international with 54 caps. (12 less than Scholes) 270 odd professional games under his belt. In a better side with more attacking options he will be improve. They need him because at the moment they don't have many players who can retain the ball in midfield. Modric can play this role, and keep the ball moving or setting up attacks from deep. I cannot think of any other players in the EPL who are more Scholes like than Luka Modric? Can you?

To mention Silva and Modric in the same sentence is fucking laughable!

United would not play him further upfield having also signed Kagawa.

He's a fraud who goes missing in games against top class opposition.

Barry still has him hiding in his pocket.

Why do people pretend not to care? They're probably the only team that can challenge next year, of course people care what they're doing. The same way they care what City are doing. Of course there is a level of obsession that's not healthy but totally ignoring you're biggest rival is just strange.

I Believe !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

I don't know why you're all arguing, there's no way Levy will sell at that price.

We cannot dictate what team they put out or what tactics they deploy. Further, we cannot influence the outcome of 36 other games in a season so why should we be bothered with whom they are allegedly interested in? It's only paper talk when all said and done.

Modric is shte? wtf? You won't be saying that later on in the year if he signs for them, I'd put money on it

He creates nearly as many chances as Silva does and does so from a deeper position.

Utd will play him further up the pitch and his assists will skyrocket (esp with playing with Rooney rather than Defoe/Ade)

And you stick to worrying more about United and leave the football talk to people who know about football.

Whilst I agree with you that he's not a patch on Silva, the comment in bold above is a tad silly if it's said in response to someone holding the opinion that Modric is a very good player.
