Modric?

With Elano gone, some are calling for a replacement, i think Modric would be perfect, hes had a years experience in the prem, we could prob get him off spuds for what they paid for him(£16mil?), what do you think, worth a punt?

I think that we need a creative midfielder, one who can play the quick delicate pass and who owns the ball when its at his feet. Modric is great but is a little light weight for the physical rigours of the PL, although I must admit that he beefed up a little lastseason and it helped him heaps.
What about Arteta to fill the gap?

He is definetly a good player but only marginally better than Ireland. If we are going for a new attacking middfielder I would like it to be world class or not at all. I don't think it's smart strategy to only buy marginally better players and then sell a lot of them again next summer when we buy even more "marginally" better players. I would like us to end up in a situation where we need only to buy 2-3 players per season max so the squad would be well settled.

We do need another creative midfielder. However, who's out there that has the quality we need, and would be willing to sit on the bench? Especially if Hughes sticks to his summer strategy of only buying players with premiership experience? There's not many, and Modric won't swap Tottenhams starting XI for our bench.

Just watching Modric play. He is absolute class. He is our man. Screw other signing he will link up very well with Tevez and Ade, He sees runs and creates problems in tight spots. He is definitely underated. Not a lightweight at all. He is strong and brings in fouls.

Winning team

Ade Tevzy

Robbie Barry Modric SWP

Bridge Dunne Toure Zabaleta

Given

Perfect

Not having a pop at you mate but how peeps can leave Ireland out of our current starting eleven is baffling.
I hoped we'd be in for Modric before he went to spuds but we weren't so that's history and unlikely to be a possibility now. Seeing his performances he has undoubted ability but is out muscled far too easily for my liking.

Ireland is great. He is our player and will back him infront of any player.

But if we are to ever challenge top 4. We will need two great players in every core position.

This is a myth about two top players for every position
