Mohamed Salah

Its 50/50 for me. Salah and Mane have been hugely successful signings. And are critical to the way they play. Nothing certain about any new signings being able to replicate that. If they lose them both it will be a huge issue for them
A lot felt this way about Coutinho too. I think Diaz and Jota are capable replacements. And if they can ass a 3rd speedy forward like Diaby they might just be fine.

Granted, Salah and Mane were fantastic. But I sense the system they play in helps them. I'm not sure Salah would have been half as good playing for us.

Been saying this for a while. The fornicating over him has been bizarre. He has looked ok but 6 goals in 26 games is a mile off Salah/Mane. Despite whatever the media says to big him up.
To be fair, I think they were just impressed at how quickly he fit in.

The problem the scousers have isn't that Diaz and Jota can't fill in to a fashion even though there will be IMHO a big drop off in quality. It's who is going to fill in for them because they were filling in for Mane and Salah?

The original 3 were Salah, Mane, Firmino with Origi as the backup.

Now theu have Jota, Diaz and need a 3rd. With Minamino as the backup forward.

And that's a big step down than what they had, they are going to have to buy big to compete if the main 2 leave. Origi is an AC milan player now isn't he? And Firmino is 31?

Could never see him here. Madrid would be the best fit for him but would prefer him to run his contract down so Liverpool get nothing for him. Same with mane and firminho. They will give 1 of them a bump in pay, probably mane as they can't afford to lose both

I agree with your point about their system, it’s still a drop off though. Jota and Diaz have also benefited from playing with good players in Salah and Mane but will be expected to step up to their level if they go. I don’t see it.

Coutinho was a 1 in 4 level player for Liverpool. A good player for them no doubt but way below Salah’s level, who is a top 10 player in the history of the premier league imo.

Salah would have had a field day playing for us with the amount of chances we create (and miss) with his ability

Jota has 21 goals in 51 games by way of comparison this season. Think they messed up playing Dias over him personally. Salah has been bang average since Dias signed, and Mane was moved and hasnt had his best season either….. thankfully it compromised them imo!!

I think signing player with no resale value + astronomical wages is not a good idea in order to run sustainable business. ( Unless its Messi or Ronaldo )
