Monaco post match

Great team effort but I do wonder if we can win the CL playing like this. There has to be some solidity surely. Kolarov is weirdly the best CB we have now. Who plays with him?

Having said that watching Sane is sheer delight. Sterling not far behind. What an incredible player. I think we need Dinho in midfield for the return.

I also think Monaco are a phenomenal team so maybe our defending was not as bad as it seemed.

I don't think there are going to be any easy ways forward should we get through but I can see us outscoring Juve, Real and PSG... but Bayern and Athletico(they are like Leicester of last season on steroids and more talented) might be a little more balanced in defence and attack than the others.

shocked at some of the media remarks, they just will not give us any credit now if that was united or liverpool they would have wanked themselves dry,,were certainly not favorites for this cup but with a little luck there is no reason this team cant win it

well that was just bonkers! brilliant spirit from us in the second half. Monaco reminded me a bit of Leicester last year but a lot better, they kept doing them lobbed balls which bypassed our midfield. we looked alot more solid when zaba came on I thought.

Not according to the City site? No yellow for Sterling.

Must have been an error by the commentator on BT then, as they said that he would miss the return leg. Good to hear the commentator made a mistake as we need him for the second leg.

Mark Clatten-bent, Anthony "Alty" Taylor, Lee rag-muppet Mason, and others too numerous to mention. Just look at that performance from Antonio Miguel Mateu Lahoz. You lot might be blind, deaf, dumb and bent in varying measures but you will never produce a performance as one-eyed, bent and inexplicable as that Spanish twunt. The ref was bought and paid for; and we still won 5-3. Clear pen or Sergio, not sure about the one on Sterling, and not one of their dumb clowns seemed to appeal for their's. Bent as a nine-bob note? More like bent as a fucking corkscrew.
As for the game, well it was one of the maddest I've seen in almost 50 years watching City. Monaco showed you don't have to fanny about at the back to get forward and find space, and we showed that when you have players that ooze class then goals are always a possibility. Some fantastic play and I thought we might have even nicked a sixth before shutting up shop.
Nice to see Willy make that save with his legs to compensate for his earlier cock up and the same for Stones when he scored our fourth.
Atmosphere was excellent in parts and Sergio banged in a couple. What's not to like?
What's not to like?
Yeah great game, you win the odd thriller but you don't win a cup/title playing with a defence like that.
