Been on the cards for a while. There is talk of a major investment and new aircraft orders but the CAA gave them 12 days a couple of days ago.
This has always been their problem, poor management and decisions have lead them to where they are which in the past included expanding too quickly. They shouldn't be talking of new aircraft whilst they can't afford to even own the planes they operate. Obviously they can lease in but then on the routes they operate I can't see what is ever going to be achieved in savings or benefits. Swapping to 737's too whilst having an all Airbus fleet is also a ridiculous decision if true unless they are seriously going to lease in crews too.
Just as an example of more bad decisions, they just recently curbed all long haul to places like Florida in favour of more routes to places like Egpyt and Turkey... My guess is they had to sell the A330's that operated them but anyway....
I hope they survive, they really need someone to get in there with some money and give whoever runs the place a massive kick up the arse.
