Monopoly for Socialists

You remind me of those guys who complain there are black people or women in WW2 video games.

Your version still exists. You're under no obligation to buy this. You can buy any version of Monopoly you like. This has no effect on your ability to play Monopoly.

A company has released a product which caters to a certain amount of people and has no effect on anyone else.

Also, again, it's a joke game. You know, humour? Do you even remember what that is any more?

It's all shits and giggles until your wife cuts your dick off and throws it out the window of a speeding car.

I understand humour perfectly well Damo, if it even qualified as witty I'd appreciate it. The thing is, it's not even accurate (as satire needs to be). Its just sad pandering to the blinkered views of one demographic. It's about as funny as the most recent episodes of family guy.

Exactly.

For a parody to be funny, it has to parody the truth, a parody of a parody is just sad and pathetic.

Its just a but of fun lads. You lot take yourselves so seriously all the time.

"NOBODY MAY MOCK OR SATIRISE MY BELIEFS"

Have a day off hey? It's a funny board game parodying American views of socialism. Its not the end of civilisation.

Also, extra top big marks to the guy who suggested that introducing a political aspect to Monopoly will hurt sales. High IQ posting.

They’re not my beliefs as I’m not a socialist, it was just the usual suspects not understanding what socialism is.

Don’t take it to heart, I just didn’t think it was funny.

“YOU MUST NOT MOCK MY POSTS AND MUST ALSO FIND THEM FUNNY”

It doesn’t make any sense, that’s the point.

Well it does obviously to people who think all people on the left economically are also socially, which is totally wrong.

Had it been monopoly for liberals then it could have been funny but even then it’s been done before too many times.

You claiming to understand humour but believing there's an objective version of humour is fantastic evidence that you dont understand humour.

So what you're saying is that whilst this doesnt appeal to you directly, you recognise that there's an audience that will enjoy this and find it funny.

Ok good, glad we agree.

There's an objective description of satire mate and this doesn't meet it. As Banjani has pointed out, it's set itself up as a pop at socialism but instead had a pretty pathetic pop at social liberalism. The two aren't even mutually inclusive, never mind identical. Most socialist states and parties have been very right leaning socially. If it had been called monopoly for libertarians and liberals it might have been better, still probably would have been fairly pathetic though.

Aguero93:20 has just made my point.

It could have been done better. Having a go maybe at liberals buying a coffee shop or a vegan cafe but it’s just missed the mark.

It perfectly meets the definition of satire.

Also, when you are talking about socialism here you are talking about the dictionary definition version if it and not how it is used colloquially amongst the target audience for this.

Monopoly also doesn't properly represent monopolies or their formation but I dont see you complaining about that. The argument on preciseness of the representation of socialism rather than just knowing what they're driving at and taking it in the right spirit is a weird type of semantics.

I have an old chestnut for this, hold on.
