This is so true.nevilletogoater-in said:NDJ said:Everyone needs to get it into the tinny little minds we ain't " typical city" anymore. Times have changed, I'm getting sick of 40+ year old blues always expecting us to fuck up.
Behave little boy. The 40+ year olds have earnt the right to be pessimistic about our bright future. I'm 26 and seen enough false dawns and heard a million promises that have failed to materialise, god knows how they feel.
'Typical City' hasn't been eradicted until we've consistantly produced trophies and competing with the big boys. Then and only then will I be convinced that we've evolved.
Winning the cup, potentially finishing 3rd in the league thus qualifying for the group stages of the champions league still feels like a dream.
I'm just waiting for some fucker to wake me and tell me we've signed Kevin Davies.

Get Munich in the playoffs, who beat us 1-0 on aggregate after a Van Buyten header and a missed penalty from De Jong.
I'm 24 mate, iv only been a season ticket holder since 16 but iv seen enough bad times to( not as may as them of course and you). I'm just trying to say we need to get rid of this shit mentality of ours, it looks like the team have and it's about time we did.nevilletogoater-in said:NDJ said:Everyone needs to get it into the tinny little minds we ain't " typical city" anymore. Chris in London said:Consider this scenario:
We are cruising in the league with a guaranteed CL place in the bag, until we get a series of stuffings from mid table journeymen teams in the last few games of the season. We then end up finishing 4th with a very real chance of ending up with Thursday nights, Channel 5 football.
We are through to the cup final where we meet another mid table journeymen team, though one who can give us a good game on the day. If we win it will give us our first silverware in donkey's years. We blow it - we don't turn up and they are fired up for the final which they nick with a scruffy goal.
We are struggling to hold on to our best players. We have the nucleus of a great team, but some glaring gaps in the squad. We have brought in some good players but some dross as well. We play some beautiful stuff but are prone to cock-ups.
Typical City?
I think not - I'm writing about Arsenal, but the point is that "Typical City"'s season would have gone much the same way as Arsenal's has done. Instead, we are sitting pretty in 3rd and have a big fat silver cup in our cabinet.
City are back.
