Oh wow. That's an amazing pic of her. What a lovely shoulder I can just make out through that steamed up glass.

Tits man. Tits.

Smith was her usual brilliant self and imho the program actually became more about her character than Matthews.

The lass playing Matthews was absolutely bobbins though.

Matthews came across as just being dopey. She must have had at a least touch more deviousness and cunning about her to plan the "abduction" and then maintain the deception.

Thought it was excellent BUT it has been written with the sole intention of winning both awards for both the drama and Sheridan Smith.

Yes don't you hate it when they make a drama just to win an award.
Should make them all to be slagged off by the critics.

I thought it was good too. Smith was superb as per usual. One thing I was a little puzzled about was that it was being discussed on Vine's show on R2 the other day and unless I misheard it (which is possible as I was at work and not listening intently), there's been some criticism from locals about how they were portrayed. I didn't see any of that myself during the programme and if anything I felt that, outside of the guilty parties, the local community came across very well.

One other thing - I see that the nation's favourite celebrity parents the McCanns are said to be fuming about the passing references to their missing daughter. Here's a thing - this wasn't about them, the references weren't in any way negative, and in any case the reason for Karen Matthews plotting the fake kidnapping of Shannon was because she'd seen how much money had been raised in the wake of Maddie's disappearance so it's entirely relevant to make mention of it.

Thought it was excellent, but did feel as if Frank gallagher would run out any minute and shout "PARTY!" , at the end when they were all out celebrating on the street.
