Walker isn’t in our homegrown 4 so makes no difference who we replace him with.
 
I'm not sure whether it's been referenced, but when I was googling articles about him, I noticed that the New York Times has an article where the journalist exclusively watched MGW for the entire game against Everton. It's quite a positive report. If anyone can link the article please feel free.

I honestly think he is way better than those two. I was against signing both of them.
For what it’s worth I think he’s way better than Nunes too, another player I really didn’t want.
I think there’s a place for him if we get the right players around him. Also, this is a squad game..

He is having a great season, probably the best he has had in his 6th year in the top flight in a team on form, and is now being quoted at 90M.

It is very much the same hype Phillips and Sinclair had after a good season.

1 season in 6 makes him worth 35M at best if he stay at forest and performs next year to the same levels then 70-90 may be actually a true valuation of a player coming i to his prime but for now he iisn't worth what they want

I can’t disagree with any of that. I do think he is better than those discussed. There was a lot of hype around them both but tbh I thought they were shite and so it proved.
I don’t think that with MGW but I can’t argue against your points. £70M - £90M is way above what I think he is worth and if that’s the price, then we can probably do better elsewhere..
 
If we are desparate for a homegrown midfielder id rather we go for Wharton.

I like him better as a 6, then MGW as an 8.

Then we can get Reijnders to replace KdB as an 8, not affecting homegrown quota.

Think Wharton will stay at Palace another year tbh, might end up with both if timed right. Dont mind MGW as the box to box option tbh, seems to have enough about him.

Why would this signing (albeit quite underwhelming, actually scrub that, absolute shit signing) mean we wont go after a 10. Different style of players altogether. PS: I doubt we will get Wirtz - he's under too much pressure to stay in Germany.

It’s a huge chunk of cash and it hasn’t touched a position we’re in desperate need of. Still need a 10/8/Winger/LB/RB
