My point is we don’t sign somebody based on their performances 5 years ago. Players who star at 17 don’t always make it…Pato, Ravel…Adu!!! Based on your argument Palmer should have been sold.

He’s been brilliant all season not for 3 months. Every top player has a break out season. This is his. You’re not basing your opinion on his performances this season.

Marmoush is 26 and he’s only had a year and a half at a top level so i don’t really understand the point. Players improve, some to a level way beyond what you expect - see Cole Palmer.

You could say ask Leicester, Coventry & Millwall fans what they thought of Harry Kane and it would be pretty underwhelming… He was supposed to be a one season wonder and is still doing it year in year out 10+ years later.

He's a late developer, he was in his own words shocking at our club but would now walk into our side.

Went to the away game at Villa Park. Rogers was easily MotM, our old man midfield couldn't get near him. He wasn't anywhere near it when he left and has said so himself but it would be great to have him now. Fair play to Villa because he wasn't pulling up any trees at Middlesbrough either.

Yeah such a weird one, I have a couple mates who are Boro fans, who at the time said he wasn’t all that.

Seen him myself for Boro once when they got me a ticket and he was rubbish that game, think it was a league cup game against Bradford or something.

Suddenly at Villa he’s a different player to all of his loan moves and at Boro.

Makes no sense and I wouldn’t touch him until he’s done it for a few seasons consistently.

Not for me, i think Gbibs White is a good player, but playing at his peak how long that peak lasts, who knows but we will not get value for money, now Anderson may well be worth sniffing at.

Value for money for us nowadays is how many trophies they can help us win. Whether he can or not is another matter.

Wirtz is us throwing our weight around. You can't sign superstar after superstar, you need some who compliment others - MGW would be that.

Sure, but let’s not forget that during the treble season City had world class players in key positions. Prime KDB, Gundogan, Rodri, Berna all played at a crazy level, and Ruben Dias was one of the best defenders in the world. It was not just Pep or the system. The core players were elite. And if this summer KDB, Berna and Gundi all leave, they will need to be replaced with players of the same world class level. You cannot just put in decent or average players and expect the same results. These guys were leaders and made the difference in big games. Back then we had the best midfield in the world, which sadly is no longer the case.
