In that case it looks like 4 signings, not including goalies.

And Grealish, McAtee, Bernardo surplus to requirements.

Yes, except not sure whether Bernardo or Kovacic stay could be either, or even neither I suppose.Plus even if we played 433 we have the personel to do that too and swith in games from one to the other.

So its touch and go for on MGW. If we are switching towards a more high octane quick hitting style, then this will be great. Otherwise, hope for Wirtz etc

No idea who the right back will be or the outgoings but im guessing we are trying to end up here?? maybe. Rico/Reis/Gundo being kinda utility lads who can fit in when and where etc so far.

(and I've not done the squad math either, 15 Non HG here i think.) assumed both keeper go as well here so 6 in.

Depends where city would look to play him.

As a 10 I think Wirtz, Simons, Cherki, Guler all far better options out there (I understand the MGW signing might be in addition to a 10). I also like the shout of Odegaard someone made which I had though myself whether there was any chance of that if they don't win UCL.

If as a 8 I would prefer Reijnders.

Wharton would be where I would look to put the money though if we need English numbers in, I think he would be cheaper as well. I think we will stick with the 2 Cb with very high wing backs and box midfield next season. If we do I think the 2 deeper midfielders could be Wharton and Rodri with Gonzalez in rotation with them. Would remove some of the defensive responsibilities of the attacking CAMs and could allow a Foden or Marmoush to move inside with you still getting the width on the wing from a doku etc.

It is the same reason I think Frimpong would be ideal on the right as he would be playing as high up as Nunes does now and would have the pace to recover. 9/10 teams we play just have everyone behind the ball anyway.

Foden needs a decent CWC or i really dont think he should start Gaz. Would love Nico Williams or Rodrygo there though!
 
I'm guessing this has been written a million times already but I feel like he'd be a good addition to the squad but serious doubts about our direction if this is the level of player we think is able to put us back on top.

All comes down to who else we sign. We fucked about during the years we could just "top up" by signing one or two players to an already quality squad. We need a serious rebuild and the sort of transfer activity we've been doing the last few years is nowhere near ambitious enough.
 
Not completely against the signing but there are better and cheaper alternatives and this does give me a few warning signs that MGW ould be another Grealish signing.

Nunes should go this summer to be honest, am sure Viana and Mendes will sort something out.

The signing doesn’t make sense he’s closer to Simmons than an actual 8. We’re already playing 2 10s with Wirtz and Foden. To partner Rodri we need someone to cover up for his weaknesses, ground coverage, duel winner, someone with long legs, PnP. A runner is not enough that’s not ambitious enough they also need to contribute attacking wise which is why the Bruno G shouts for the past 2 years were so strong. If they want a B2B there’s plenty out there. If they want an attacking player who is versatile. Than Cherki, Rodrygo and Mbeumo are your guys that are not just great off the bench but are starting levels.

Even though we need English players it’s just a waste of funds. Get 2 actual fullbacks instead, Wirtz and GKs then see how many players have gone.

Problem from a fee perspective is forest paid £40m for him and they will be wanting a big uplift on that.
If he was an a academy player, I'm sure we could get him for a lot less than has been touted round.
