I don't get this one if it happens. Worse than Grealish and worse than Palmer in my opinion. He's a good player but not someone that helps takes us to the next level. I guess it depends on what your expectations are as to whether he floats your boat.

I agree with parts of this. We don’t have Palmer, and I think Grealish’s time is done at City. MGW will come in to be the 8, alongside (if it goes City’s way) Wirtz. He’s coming in to replace Gundo, not to try and get someone to be the KDB in our team. You can’t replace KDB, just get someone who’s a very good player and plays the same position. I’m more than happy with Gibbs-White, as long as we can pick up a top talent at #10. We shouldn’t be expecting him to be the KDB replacement, just a good, solid #8.

We were blessed to have KDB.
We need to now look forward and develop the team and a new generation of magicians with their own box of magic and tricks.

I fully agree. Hopefully, we can get a player who’ll make us say “there is no -player- replacement” in the future, who’ll go out and make themselves famous for being a great player, and not for being like Kevin De Bruyne (which is impossible)

I get that but not updating the midfield with creativity would be crazy.....I konw we are keeping gundo but I not sure he can offer us much against the best anymore....He has been improved over the last 5-6 games but against the better teams he aint creating or scoring much now.
MGW has legs and aggresiveness but he we knkow he aint a rplacement for KDB....I knw people on here rate him but to me he has a huge step up to make...everyone saud Grealish, Phillips, Nunes would do it ...Pep will make them better.....he didnt and there is a good chance that the same will happen with MGW

What we do need is one world class player added to that midfield.....that is the key purchase this summer and if its not Wirtz then we need to make sure that there is someone else.

not even £30m...if we need players from the uk then we should start to use/develope the players from our own academy which is one of the best in the uk in the last 7 years...

They're for selling not for playing so it seems. The best academy in the world and we don't play them nearly often enough even if our form drops of a cliff.

To further your point, it has been reported the club wants Wirtz AND MGW. MGW isn't a fallback option for Wirtz. A Midfield of Rodri, Wirtz, and MGW makes a lot of sense on paper. It remains to be seen whether it happens.

There isn’t one player that can replace what Kev is.

You need two, Gibbs’s white has Kevs work rate and ability to progress the ball, Wirtz has vision and the ability to split defences. Put that together and you get Kev.

If not Wirtz. Simmons or Eze would work.

What we need in the summer is an injection of energy, physicality, athleticism and creativity. He would bring the first three of those.
