Morgan Gibbs-White

Should get clever with this ,ie 90m for MGW and we get 50m for Mcatee just to piss the PL wankers off.
Why would Forest agree to value Mcatee that big?
If they sell MGW they are going to scam us either way.
Aim should be to strengthen the side and not piss Pl wankers

The point was to over inflated both fees to get around the ridiculous PSR rules ,70/30 is probably the more realistic valuations.

There's a reason why no one else is linked with this lad. Yes, he's had a good season with forest but he's no where near good for a team supposedly wanting to win the CL again
Or everyone knows he is city bound? He is a really good player and hopefully the step up in coaching and players around will allow him to step up even more. He will improve us without doubt. Albeit I do accept he isn’t the “elite” level player who replaces KDB but who could? Maybe we have a plan to bolster other areas of the side to compensate for the creativity we will lose without Kev?

What about goals and creativity? We’ve missed those this season too.

Foden, Bernardo, Gundogan, Savinho, Doku, Bobb, Grealish.

We can debate who is a write off (I think most agree Grealish needs to go but some on here are just hysterical in writing off Savinho and Doku, even Foden for Christ's sake).

I don't think it's as simple as "just directly replace De Bruyne". The system broke down this year.

Pressing intensity dropped off.
Passing accuracy dropped off.
Passing speed dropped off.

So we're dealing with being turned and counter attacked way more, and have become cautious and ponderous in attack.

If we sign two strong, fast, aggressive central midfielders, a lot else will fall into place.

The prospect of this signing is suffering in comparison to Wirtz but it's obvious the Wirtz deal would have taken our entire transfer budget and then we'd be relying on a 21 year old lad in his first season in the league to turn up and hit peak De Bruyne levels, and for us to muddle through with the rest.

Pep has said publicly that he sees the wider game changing and that we need to move with it. He has built three great teams.

I'm curious to see the next version.

Reported that Liverpool are competing with Man Utd and Arsenal for the signature of the England international midfielder.

That was in March.

He's had one good season with Forest. He's a good player who won't improve us much. I don't think he's better than what we currently have.

And where are those reports now? Liverpool are on the verge of signing one of the best young midfielders in Europe. Germany's equivalent of Foden/Bellingham.

Arsenal haven't been mentioned once in the conversations since March. He'd be a great signing for Utd. A team wanting to get back to mid table obscurity instead of a relegation battle

I think MGW will surprise a few people on here, he'll excel with good players around him. It'll give Phil a boost too.
He’s a very good player. I mentioned him on here after watching him early on in the season.

The usual posters are just doing what they do. There is nothing more BM than a poster who doesn’t understand the game and/or is a naturally miserable ****, wading in about something they know fuck all about.

The posters crying over Wirtz will have “watched” him by watching a YouTube compilation.

Most times I have watched him play he has been one of the best on the pitch. I don't understand the negativity towards our interest in the player. Most of the season, the criticism of our midfield has been energy, legs, tenacity, etc. MGW has all of that, and he also can create and score. What is the issue?

Sadly their minds are already made up. Example:

MGW misplaces a pass on his debut. ‘Fuckin told you. He’s wank and nowhere near our level’

Wirtz signs for us and misplaces a pass on his debut. ‘It’s a new league, he’s fuckin mint and we beat Liverpool to his signature and I got to show off about it bla bla bla’

No other top team needs to rebuild their midfield. Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea have young midfielders. Bayern, PSG and Madrid have young midfielders too. It’s just our midfield that has been left behind

Probably already been answered but its because:

He’s English and plays for Forest.

Have you seen any uproar with regard to the lad from Milan?

He is not a top-tier signing ....He is good in all aspects, but does not excel in one particular aspect. He reminds me of Gini Wijnaldum from Liverpool. For the price Forest will demand, he is not worth it.

Well if Gibbs-White leaves City having played 250 games for us and having won a Premier League title and a European Cup then we'll have done alright out of him.

Forest apparently quoting £70m - him and Reijnders at £60m for roughly the price of Wirtz isn't bad business.
