Morgan Gibbs-White

MGW is a classic example of how being by a distance the best player at a club results in a completely unrealistic transfer valuation. He is a good player, but not close to the level that would warrant what Forest apparently wanted for him. What will happen with him long term if Forest price him out of a move to a CL level team, is that he will run his contract down and they will end up getting little or nothing.

I can see him joining next season. The club will monitor him and Wharton. Who knows if Nico Gonzalez will be happy next year if he can’t pass Reijnders and Rodri + those two are the best available players to keep filling the HG quota.

He might not be the best player who takes the club to the next level but he is the type of player that can take us to the next level due to his running. Sometimes a special type of player can rise and also reach another lvl just by playing for a better club. Looking at Neves and Vitinha. They compliment each other so well with Ruiz in central midfield.

Nunes (who they want) and cash, for MGW & Aina to round out a nice window??

:)

Sums it up imo. Overpriced for what he offers.
That's the thing, what does he offer?

He runs around alot, Something which is expected of a player anyway.

Seen a few on here also comparing him to James Milner. It's nonsense. As much as I can't stand Milner they aren't even in the same bracket.

Gibbs White couldn't lace his boots.

He’ll probably end up at Spurs for £45m when his contract has run down to force a move.

He’s a 6/10 player that we’d not contemplate touching if he wasn’t home grown.

Let’s have 8+/10 players with versatility so that we’re covered for all positions, and when we’re not, we blood O’Riley, Bobb and use Rico too.

This home grown malarkey is making a load of average players a shitload of money

Depends how we conduct our business. We can sell loads from our academy to fund the purchase of more proven HG players. Or we can use them as make weights in a deal. Or we could even play them and fill the spots that way!

I personally think MGW is a very good player, better than a lot are giving him credit for. But it would be a huge risk to outlay so much money on him at this stage.
