The clause probably became active in July. But city would have known about the clause there is no way his agents etc wouldn’t have filled city in so that probably explains why many in the media where certain city where gonna do the deal as it was a pretty straight forward one

Can hardly blame forest for trying to squeeze more money but I very much doubt it would have worked for the reasons posted above

Definitely won't surprise us. Most times they could have fielded a team of Gary Mabbutt, Ledley King's knees and Paul Robinson and we still would have lost on the counter

Why wouldn’t they, if in fact they did, I suspect we lost interest in Gibbs White way back when we knew we could get Reinders for £40 mill.
