Not saying Spurs will ne top four but they've appointed a top manager (IMO) and have a decent squad if they can keep em fit.

Missing out on a player because spurs beat us to it. We’d know about a release clause as well considering how long we’ve been speaking about this deal.

Normally we end with a 'shopping list' that includes various backup options in case we can't get what we really want.
It's quite possible that we agreed terms with him and we're aware if the clause, but he's not who we really wanted. Whether that's Reijnders, Cherki or someone totally different I've no idea.
Possible. I think if we were still interested then he wasn't plan A, and it may have taken a few other transfers to take place (exits mostly) for us to be in a position where we'd want him. Spurs may have said he's what they want and they wanted the transfer instantly.
If he'd waited for us he could have ended up at Forest still.

Cant say I'm bothered by this one. I've always felt he wasn't quite our level and probably suits a team like Spurs more. I think weve recruited a much better player in Reijnders, so it was never on after that.

We see promoted teams spend that much now, its nothing.
As you said yourself, they've got CL. That alone gives them an extra £100m to spend, they're one of the highest revenue generators in the league, they can spend multiple hundreds of millions without having to balance any books.

Tbf, the interest we showed over the last couple of months seems to have been lukewarm at best, so that may well have made MGW think we weren't all that bothered about signing him.
