I thought it might happen , we have a player forest want. They are pissed off at Spurs. We wanted Gibbs white, makes sense, Forest owner gets to piss off spurs , also gets a replacement for Gibbs white in the process.

A lot on here don’t rate MGW. But you only have to listen to a lot of the Forest fans to realise what he can offer.
Some say he is their most important player ‘beating heart of the team’.
I know it doesn’t always transfer to other teams but we do lack a Tevez type player who fights for every ball and lifts the effort of the other players around him.
It’s a yes from me.
Let McAtee, Grealish and Phillips go and bring in an English player who can actually put pressure on the starting midfielders .

At the right price this would be an excellent addition. I’ve come round to the idea a lot. I was quite disappointed when Spurs were linked at £60M. Makes it a good deal.

Assuming McAtee, Gundo, Kovacic & hopefully Nunes are on the way out I'd gladly take Gibbs-White in a heartbeat.

A keeper and a right back also need to arrive of
course but but by bit. Going to be a busy next 6 weeks - it needs to be.

Nunes won’t be on his way out. He’s not classed a midfielder under Pep and he’s a fantastic option at full back.

I doubt Kovacic will be going either having just had surgery. Gundo would need to be shoved out the door too which I doubt.

McAtee is likely the only one who will go. The fact it’s Forest might help with MGW, though.

Part of me wants him this move to happen purely because of the "he turned down City and only wants Spurs" bullshit that was getting reported last week.

But realistically, we've got Cherki to replace de Bruyne and Reijnders to replace Gundogan. So where does he fit?

I think it's just a case of Nottingham being pissed off at Spurs and is trying to offer him to the other top clubs instead. If we really wanted to sign him we had every chance of doing so before he agreed to join Spurs. I dont really believe that Spurs knew about his release clause but we somehow didn't. Unless something has significantly changed our plans in terms of outgoings in the last week or so it doesn't make much sense as to why we would be wanting to do a deal now but not 2 weeks ago.
