Morgan Gibbs-White

I don't dislike Gibbs-White, but if we do buy him and send McAtee their way as part of the deal I'm pretty sure McAtee will be widely regarded as the much better player in 2 seasons time. He will absolutely thrive in that #10 spot MGW is vacating.

But I also think if we kept McAtee, Pep will keep not playing him and he'll just leave for nought eventually anyway.

I think 60mil(his release clause) is about right. When the talk of 80+ was doing the rounds it was a defo no from me but 60 sits ok.
Hopefully Gundo, Kovecic and the rest get the message and sort themselves moves out

We have to shift a few players regardless and I'm sure that's already underway.

I think MGW would be a fine addition. The right age, HG, and his pace and crossing/passing out right would complement what we've already brought in. He'd give us something a bit different.

60m + Mcatee going the other way for a smaller fee seems to work for all parties? Assuming MGW wants to come here. I like McAtee, but he just didn't do enough with his chances here (could argue he didn't get enough but it is what it is), and I think a move will help him realize his potential.

Nunes won’t be on his way out. He’s not classed a midfielder under Pep and he’s a fantastic option at full back.

I doubt Kovacic will be going either having just had surgery. Gundo would need to be shoved out the door too which I doubt.

McAtee is likely the only one who will go. The fact it’s Forest might help with MGW, though.
Nunes a "fantastic option" at full back? I'll have some of what you're smoking please.

He's an option at full back if the aim is to finish somewhere between 8th and 12th I suppose. He's shite.

The words "fantastic" and "class" mean something different to some posters on here. Nunes is a decent option at RB. There's no way on earth he's "fantastic" at anything

Sounds to me like he has told the club he wants out, but Forest are refusing to sell to Spurs after their shenanigans and want us to buy him.

I doubt we will be interested now.

We ain't paying £60m-£70m for a player that would struggle to get off of our bench.

He ain't playing of Reijnders.

Happy with MGW, but do we need him? We have like 34-35 players. We need to be selling a few of the 30+ brigade before we buy anyone, IMO.

Nunes is a square peg at RB, shouldn’t be playing there and not good enough for midfield, cash in on him if there’s any interest from anyone.

Don't think Tolm has been overly reliable on much for a while has he? That tweet actually doesn't really tell much either. I'd imagine after Spurs trying to get him with a lowball price they would be more than open to sell to other clubs. Especially City if they want one of our players. It made me laugh all this tapping up stuff though, even his tweet says personal terms already agreed with City previously, that's similar tapping up as Spurs no?

Not unless Forest gave us permission.

I think the definition of tapping up is speaking directly to the player without the selling club's permission, as pointless as that is with agents involved these days. Forest do seem to be grasses though with the Crystal Palace thing and now the MGW thing.

If they did then it makes Tolms tweet even more pointless because if we had permission then Forest was always open to selling to City....

The tweet suggests “prepared” not “open”, which I reckon means at first they didn’t want to let him go, but after Spurs shenanigans, they’ll do business with us.
