Moses

All these attacking players and yet they still have Mikel who wouldn't even get on our bench as a first choice midfielder.

Seems a very good player. Should have gone for him instead of Sinclair although the homegrown quota may have forced our hand. We need somebody like him in our team, as it seems as though, sometimes we have the Arsenal syndrome of trying to walk the ball into the net!

Doesn't Moses count at HG? He chose Nigeria but was trained by Crystal Palace. Clichy counts as HG, etc.

Yep he was capped by England at Youth level.
Looks like we missed out on him then guys :(

I think that Mikel is their 'Pure DM'. Like we have De Jong, he just sits infront of the back 4 and keeps it simple.

That's my whole point, they are spending a fortune on similar players yet persist with the really mediocre Mikel in their midfield when they could spend some of their money on a quality midfielder. I think Roman has instructed the manager to make a fast attacking team as they're signing loads of speedy playmakers.

Looks like they will be devastating on the counter attack this season. Luckily for us they can't defend.
We already outplayed them once this season, don't see why we couldn't again.

As long as we don't get injuries, based on current squad that is

Hard to form an opinion when it's only a friendly. However, I don't doubt we will finish above them, I'm just slightly concerned at our lack of transfer activity. If Kompany or Yaya get injured we're pretty much screwed.

Brian Marwood said at a supporters club visit a while ago that they ran checks over Moses and Adam Johnson and decided to sign Johnson.

I don't know why but changing formation from 3 at the back, to 4, felt like a step down. I hope Roberto gives it a chance in the league. David Silva needs to be eased into the league IMO. He was playing injured at the depth of last season, and he just went all the way in the Euros.
