That's my whole point, they are spending a fortune on similar players yet persist with the really mediocre Mikel in their midfield when they could spend some of their money on a quality midfielder. I think Roman has instructed the manager to make a fast attacking team as they're signing loads of speedy playmakers.

Looks like they will be devastating on the counter attack this season. Luckily for us they can't defend.

Hard to form an opinion when it's only a friendly. However, I don't doubt we will finish above them, I'm just slightly concerned at our lack of transfer activity. If Kompany or Yaya get injured we're pretty much screwed.
I don't know why but changing formation from 3 at the back, to 4, felt like a step down. I hope Roberto gives it a chance in the league. David Silva needs to be eased into the league IMO.
