Most Gutted you've Been About a player leaving

Peter Barnes, cos I used to be him in the playground and playin in the street. Happy days !

Tony Coton, top city keeper but gutted who he joined.

Richard Dunne as he'd been with us so long and grown up with us in a way.

SWP I knew as soon as Arsenal and Chelsea were interested we wouldn't be able to keep hold of him and accepted long before he left that he would go but still absolutely gutted when he joined Chelsea.

Coton was a kick in the balls, because he'd been exceptional for us and stated he wanted to leave to get first team football. To then go to United, who already had Schmeichel at his pomp, made a mockery of his claims. The fact United signed him for £400,000, then sold him a season later for £500,000, just added salt to the wounds.

3 That stick out for me are Kinkladze, Elano and De Jong.

As a 12 year old boy I couldn't grasp why Joe Royle didn't want to play him, In hindsight I understand the reasons for it now, but it still wrenched me as a kid when I found out he was sold.

IMO an on-form Elano could still feature in today's squad. There are plenty of supporters who bemoan our lack of a dead-ball specialist and Elano was the last truly great one we had, he rivals Balotelli in terms of Penalty accuracy as well. Ironically he was better before the arrival of Robinho, which is when I think he fell into a bit of a clique and stopped trying as hard.

Nigel I believe is the embodiment of what every supporter would play like given the chance. Always tried hard, always had a good rapport with the fans and was a true gent, despite his on field persona. Couldn't believe he could be sold for so little.

Fantastic post.

I would play like Ricky Holden

Devoed to lose SWP

Kinkladze; my footballing hero growing up and after that final game v Stoke I thought I'd never see us back in the top tier never mind win anything.

SWP, I was working in Greece that summer and I remember thinking we could never compete with the Sky 4.

Cole, I was genuinely gutted when he left as I didn't know where our goals were going to come from. It turned out I was right to be as that season under Pearce was horrible.

One from left field now, Peter Beagrie. What a top bloke, he was always fantastic with the kids when we turned up to watch training he'd stick around for ages talking to everyone, signing autographs and posing for pictures, decent player too who still loves City.
