Most momentous International event in your lifetime?

Definitely 9/11. I was in school and I remember it vividly.

We had a family holiday in New York 6 months later too. Was amazing how quickly the rebuild operation was conducted. New Yorkers don’t fuck about.
Fella I know was there when it happened. Couple of blocks away.

That, Diana death, Space Shuttle blowing up twice.

Depending on how old people are, there are some events which will be discussed in thousands of years. They include:

- The first nuclear bomb
- humans travelling faster than the speed of sound
- Space exploration/moon landing
- Chernobyl
- Fukushima
- the invention of plastic
- the invention of AI
- COVID 19

There’s probably loads more but they are the biggest things that have happened in the last 100 years.

It was Covid until last week when Mad Eye Screamer voted for Dylan over the Smiths...How soon is now and Depeche Mode fans took the huff in finishing 5th on the best song of all time.

Heysel watching it live on TV.
Hillsborough I was in Blackpool with a mate on the piss came back to get changed at the hotel and it was on tv bloody heartbreaking.
Berlin Wall I was stationed in Germany what a piss up we had that week with the Germans.
911 in work watching it unfold on tv unreal watching that second plane hit.
Manchester Arena sat in work that night, one of the lads had to rush to the arena his wife and daughter had just walked out the doors when the bomb went off, we waited all night waiting to be sent down but the cunts in charge bottled it.
COVID still can’t believe that happened if I’m honest only 3 years ago seems a lifetime ago

From a family standpoint it’s the fall of the Berlin Wall. Changed everything.
