So we've had the overrated thread, what about the other side of the coin?
A few of my picks...
Kompany - believe it or not, outside of Bluemoon he's not rated as highly as he should be. If the derby in feb confirmed anything to me, it was that Kompany and Vidic are the two best CBs in the world.
Guisseppe Rossi - Don't watch as much Spanish football as I'd like, but I always try and watch a few Villareal games every month. Lovely little player - annoyed he never got a chance with us, as the potential was there. Got a cracking shot, good finisher, and quite creative too.
Morten Gamst Pedersen - always been a big fan of his. He's been a big fish in a small pond at Blackburn for ages; skillful player who takes a great set piece. If he'd been a squad player at one of the big clubs for the past 7 years, he'd be thought of a lot more highly than he currently is.
Niko Kranjcar - Wasted at spurs. So gifted on the ball; could do a job for any of the big clubs.
Johan Djourou - Without him, Arsenal would be well and truly fucked this season. All the headlines went to their two new CBs for differing reasons, but Djourou has outshone them both. Really unlucky that he's injured for the run in...
Other names to throw in the hat: Chung Young, Santi Cazorla, Craig Gordon, I suppose Cavani to an extent; I think he's up there with the best in the world on his day. Fantastic prospect.
