Motability - the farce

Hi Karen it was an experience fair to say the centre was in Crewe, no parking anywhere near and there were three other people also there at the same time. In every case it was very clear to even the most IDS loving idiot that non of them should have been anywhere near the place. I am still fuming and to be honest was annoyed to post about it. Anyway we await the decision.

The lady who did the assesment was ok, a trained nurse apparently.
That sounds really grim,i got the decision after 15 days so you should get yours pretty soon, hope you get the right result x

I am not even sure how IDS sleeps at night to be honest but Cameron is the biggest shock to me, this one policy is the reason I cannot vote Tory

I have news

I had my PIPS assessment a couple of weeks ago at home
The letter arrived this morning,i circled it for an hour before i dared open it

I have been awarded the enhanced rate for mobility and also for care needs
Phew x 100
The money is much the same as i was already getting so i don't have to worry about that now

Anyone else having or had the assessments and decision?

Great news Karen. Must be a great relief for you. It's absolutely disgusting that folk are put through stress like this anyway.

Thanks lovely, dealing with ATOS has been something i do not want to repeat in a hurry,i have 4 years until next time

What? You mean this decision is up for review? How bloody ridiculous is that?

Anyway just put that to the back of your mind.

Again, glad all went well for you:)

Bleeding scrounger. Bring back workhouses.

Seriously, what a relief that must be. What a disgrace that people are treated in this way. How we look after the disadvantaged in society defines what sort of society we are.

Up to a few years ago, I'd have probably defined myself as possibly a left-wing conservative or right wing liberal, as I generally believe in the free market but also that the market needs control and regulation. But I also believe that there are some things that the state should do or does better than the free market.

But the last 12 months have led to my total disgust with the insipid, vapid so-called leader we have and his uncaring and doctrinaire ministers who seem intent on destroying democracy and civil society.

Even when Thatcher was PM, I felt that we were taking one step backwards to take two steps forward. Under this lot we're just taking giant step after giant step backwards.

It's a huge relief,i was lucky to have the home assessment,it's a big advantage to having to go to the centres and my GP wrote to them and insisted on it being at home,he was a fantastic support,i rang him today to tell him and he said it made his week
As for the politics of it all i can't get my head around the way cameron is treating the sick and disabled after having had a disabled son, being a millionaire who can provide all the care available has removed him from the reality of normal folk who are struggling with real life on benefits and at the mercy of IDS who can take away your ability to get care on a whim. All that aside i am just relieved i have 4 years of peace from today
I recall cameron saying they claimed DLA for their son so he took from the state when it suited him

blame people like my mum not the government - hope every single person with a genuine case gets paid more and the piss takers are weeded out.

You do have to wonder how much all this nonsense is costing though, I am of the opinion that those who are capable of work should work, large companies should be made by law to employ a certain % of disabled people, but most importantly whatever policy you bring in make sure you show people a bit of dignity and don't treat them like shit.

It's not like it's only people with dodgy backs that they are shitting up, most of these interviews could have been avoided by using common sense.

Once you realise that the maintenance of the status quo, defence of the realm and the prosecution of crimes against property, are all that really matters to these right wing bastards, then it begins to make sense.
