It can't be a minutes applause because somethings need to be remembered and not celebrated
A minutes applause is to celebrate a players achievements during his life, his whole career.
What happened with Munich was an undoubted tragedy, not just for the loss of the player lives, but for the loss of all the lives in that airplane, including one of our own. Sometimes you have to step back and appreciate that sixty whole seconds of silence is appropriate for certain events
You could otherwise argue that instead of the two minute silence of remberance on 11-11 you instead have two minutes of applause
I know I will get called a rag etc, and I know there is a strong feeling that United promote this tragic event for nationwide public effect more than they probably should but certain events such as this, Hillsbrough, Bradford Fire victims do actually deserve a bit of respect
I must also add that fair play to Sky on Goals on Sunday highlights for showing the 24th minute tribute to Neil Young, explaining what it was and just went to show how wonderful our club and supporters are
