Given but I thought best outfield player was De Jong, just ahead of Bellamy. All recent signings, which augurs well.

This , does augur well .. also thought big fil was great when he came on too.

Don't really need to think about this one. Without Given we would have lost. He made 4 or 5 superb saves and I bet he already feels like "here we go again". Elsewhere I thought Stevie, SWP and Bellamy all had good games. Overall we scraped through with a win but thought Boro deserved something from the game.

IF you deserve it you will get it. Deserving to score aint the same as scoring sadly. If we got 17 shots on target made non then we made a good effort with a piss poor finish. However ... we scored ... won ... good 3 points! :)

Boro deserved nothing: City dominated the match (possession, shots etc...) and their keeper had to make some very good saves in addition to being beaten when SI hit bar and Bellamy should had finished off SI's cross from a couple of yards out. In fact, although Given's first save may have been the best and most crucial of the game, Jones may have made the better saves overall but Jones let in a shot that I would have been very disappointed to see Shay fail to stop and that is why Given gets MoTM: his performance was exemplary.
