Honestly the only reason I've even considered it might be best to let Mancini go this season is if he had lost the dressing room. It looked like it after Southampton, but the squad seems to have rallied and it doesn't appear in spite of Mancini. The cookie monster said:taconinja said:You would blow a gasket if Mancini ever did what Mourinho did tonight. You would rage on here insulting anyone daring to disagree with you calling them seventeen kinds of stupid amongst other sneering ad hominem attacks on their intelligence, upbringing, et al. and it would last for weeks. You would bring it up months and years later as "evidence" of Mancini's unfitness especially how it had undermined his players after a big win. You're a big one for whining like a small, spoiled child every time Mancini criticizes a player. Well, Mourinho just criticized his entire starting eleven plus subs publicly. He just undermined his squad as you've insisted Mancini has done when he criticizes publicly.
If he did it to motivate them to play better in the next round, I'm for it. It's effective. It's a sometimes necessary tactic. But I'm not going to be a hypocrite and lambast Mancini for doing it.
Taconinja you are one of the best posters on this and other mourinho threads
At least you list all his faults at the same time as saying he is a great manager
As for Mourinho's comments tonight... I don't think they're a lobbying attempt to get that job. I think it's a parting shot at Madrid and especially the players he feels weren't in his corner. That's just speculation though, and only as valid as any other speculation.
Exactly how I saw his comments, he felt they weren't good enough tonight and got lucky with the card.
