Mourinho or Mancini

It was me who said it not Dave mate. On that fateful night after that defeat at Anfield. It's also the night I called Mancini the Italian Benitez. It's amazing what one jet lagged Jack Daniels fuelled posting session can do for a man's reputation ... :)
Very honest of you. I appreciate that. My apologies Didsbury Dave.

Ah well, I remember SWP's Back after Arsenal.

Similar to TH's views, I have complete faith nowadays that in Soriano and Burgerstain we have people who are highly experienced that will be casting their eyes over the manager and playing staff and drawing their own conclusions.

I'll leave it to them to make the correct decision but I think it's rather naive to not think there will be a consideration of changing the manager when Pep and Jose are on the market to come to the Prem.

The main issue for me is as to why we, as a team, although unbeaten are going backwards in the quality of our play. Surely with the talent at our disposal we should still be improving as more of the players benefit from improving with the lingo and spending time with the squad. The summer window was an utter shambles, whether that falls at the feet of Marwood or Mancini, who knows.
Careerist politicians who found themselves in the right place at the right time. Watch Tolmies video. I'm not sure what particular talent or insight they had/have

My club should not be a guinea pig for anyone.

Those who suggest we retain Mancini, should he win the league/FA Cup, but question his position if he again comes up short in Europe, next season, are short-sighted.

All it does is delay the inevitable, put our rate of progress back even further, as happened when we retained Hughes six months longer than he deserved.

Even if Mancini does the Double, I would send him on his way, thanks for all the memories, but the next step needs to be taken.

We wait until next season and all it does is impact another year.

It may be delaying the enevitable but no manager deserves sacking after success. Ancelotti won the double and was sacked for finishing second in the league. Di Matteo being sacked has outraged the whole football word and it was uncalled for really. City have enough bad headlines, us sacking a double winning manager would make us most hated of all. Stick with Bobby unless he wins league I'd ask.

Why should we care about what the rest of the 'football world' thinks, though?

Nobody wants us to do well as it is. As you say we get enough bad headlines as it is.

Those writing and pouting indignation are just hyprocrites, the same ones who have stuck the boot in for the last three years.

There were plenty who thought Hughes should not have been sacked, having guided us to a Carling Cup semi-final, having beat Chelsea, having best Arsenal etc.

Hindsight is a great thing, but the owners were spot on with what they did and appointing the right man at the right time in terms of Bobby and the next level.

Chelsea is an exceptional case, as it simply is ego-driven by one man, yet, they have continued to win, regardless in recent years.

I agree with a lot of your post but you have to remember the owners want a clean image. Sacking managers is a sign of disloyalty and we a manager in place to stay here and guide us to glory year in year out. I personally think Mancini has peaked and whilst adept domestically in leagues he is inept when it comes to Europe. Many on here never watched his Inter side, he really fucked up not doing well with them because they were a really good side. Many believe the Mancini doubters are wrong but some fail to realise that some of the doubters base opinions pre-city of Mancini and aren't as precious towards staff as they are. I am City 1st and players and managers 2nd. They come and go but City remain.

Our owners have taken us on an incredible journey and I am precious to them only. If they (harshly imo) sack Bobby tomorrow I will be gutted for him but I will still back them 100% as they are doing what is right for the club in their eyes and going on that basis so far hasn't hurt us one bit as it?

I tell you now I'd be gutted to see Bobby go, but Pep is most certainly a step up. It's much like us having Aguero and parting with him to get Messi. It hurts but you know it's the right decision.

My opinion on media is a serious one. They have tried to hang Mancini for a while now but they will turn as soon as he is shown the door and say how harsh we are and how the club isn't the 'proper City' anymore. How we have changed attitudes etc and to be honest it fills me with anger. I never once got questioned as a fan when we were plying our trade in the lower leagues and neither did my brother and sisters at City at Maine Road or COMS yet now we are all gloryhunters and we are hated. It's damaging for our reputation and that's why I say all decisions should be considered and well thought out but saying that I know full well it will be with our board.

Chelsea were nailed on for Pep less than two months ago,

<a class="postlink" href="http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/news/premier-league-paper-round-chelsea-warned-stop-bugging-084642150.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/news/prem ... 42150.html</a>

The question begs, who say's in light of this that he was nailed on ?

Only as much as Chelsea believed they had the field to themselves and had already spoken to both him and his advisors.

As I say, they are absolutely panic-stricken that he will end up somewhere else, hence the article about now harassing him.

They're only two months behind with that story.......not bad?
