Moving to Newcastle

Another vote for Tynemouth

The Saturday market in the vast station area is great. A lot of unusual stuff, second hand guitars on one stall are bargains.

Some very good pubs on the pretty main street that leads to the beach. Missing the place now....

Oh and good luck to the op with his promotion and move. Lovely area of the UK to live. Get out and about into the countryside. No wonder they try and keep it secret up there. As lovely as Devon and Cornwall.

Yeah, Tynemouth market is excellent for off the wall stuff. The beach is beautiful.

Then there's Bamburgh, Alnwick, Rothbury, Hexham, Durham, the Cheviots and so on. The north east is a beautiful place to live.

For years we have talked of Devon or Cornwall being our area of choice for 'retirement'. But we seriously thinking of Tynemouth nowadays...

bluespice is from up that neck of the woods and she is a St holder in East Level 3 (though I think she lives a fair bit out of toon)
has anyone said about getting the metro out to Whitley Bay for the fish and chips yet?

Bluespice lovely lady but I haven't seen her on here for ages ;o( I wonder how she is

softlad Long shot, but did you use to frequent Bikeradar in the days it was good?

I didn't mate, no sorry! No idea what that was...

PB, I'm in Barca this week but if you're about for the derby would be happy to meet for a beer or 5.

Settled in now, just. Moved in next to a bunch of 7 students who are actually not too bad. Still having issues with the Geordies understanding my dulcet Somerset tones and vice versa!
