well i am shocked, I thought gollum would want bobby thrashed to within an inch of his life but apparently not.

No. It's all part of Moyes' grand plan. The screw has been gently turned a quarter for now. Tactical plan is to back off for a moment, show the world a shred of humanity, garner the sympathy of the football world, and then take the next opportunity to stick the boot in again.
 
I think Moyes problem was Hughes and Cook, not City in general, after the match on Wednesday, Moyes and Mancini had drinks together, he probably likes Mancini, as he felt undermined by Hughes over the Lescott transfer.
