Went there for the second time this weekend. My life, the food in there is absolutely exceptional, and definitely the best I've had in Manchester. A relative was up from London, and eats out down there in some very well thought of places (that Michelin starred stuff), and he said it was some of the best food he's had as well.

Infinitely better than that "Where The Light Gets In" gaff, and much more reasonable.

I have been to several Michelin places, Le Gavroche, Quatre Saison, Benares and several more and have to say I was not very impressed. Some of the courses at the Midland were very good but others left a lot to be desired. Would I go back..no ‘fraid not. Considering there are no Michelin restaurants in Manchester then this place is a good start but needs to up their game a bit. For me Le Gavroche was exceptional and the best food I have ever had.

If you are in the area try Fischers Baslow Hall. Won’t break the bank either.

It's good but I'd rather cross the foyer to The French, preferably via the Octagon bar for a G&T.
Or Wood at First Street.
Where The Light Comes In is pretentious beyond words, as is Rabbit in the Moon (when it's open).
