Mr. Jack Rodwell

He had a good solid game, trying to force the issue at times , good determination to win the ball back when losing it, could turn out to be our best signing in the window.

Thought CT was man of the match with another fabulous display, also Dzeko seemed to be finding his feet mid way through the second half I'm convinced with more game time he is class.

it might be a bit early to say but if we can give him the same level of confidence which we gave to Yahya when he came from Barcelona while going forward,he could surely turn out to be one great player for us.

Jack along with Barry and javi Garcia will be rotated a lot .... with Garcia and Rodwell probably taking the spot longer but when Yaya goes to ACON I think Garcia and Rodwell will be used alot.

Jack Rodwell is the man for sure and looks like a class player.... So pleased he's with us.

Shows potential , and looks assured at times , but it's difficult to make a true assessment of him at the moment .......

one thing is for sure though , he definetely SHOULDN'T have been booked today... that was a terrific tackle!

looks good, nice and quick and sharp on the ball.

tends to dive in a bit though, has time to correct this though

This ... well said.
It's great to see so many positive comments. I know we all loved Nige, but I see so much more potential in this lad. I'm so pleasantly surprised. I wondered what all ths fuss was about but now realise his talent probably wasn't going to get realised at Everton.

Agreed, but Chris Foy, what can you expect?

Especially just after somebody plainly brought Yaya down from behind on the edge of the box. How anybody could have seen Rodwell's tackle even as a foul when stood about 2 yards away from it... just baffling... I'd love to know what goes through these referee's heads.

I'm just SO delighted now that the rags didn't buy him last season. Rodwell (or Dembele) would have been perfect for them. It shows either Sir Bacon face is losing it or the Glass fitters weren't prepared to have a whip round.

I'm not the type who decries the loss of tackling from the game - its a different game now to how it was 20 years ago - but when that kind of challenge gets a booking football is going to lose something special.

As you say it was a great tackle, ball side throughout, used his body to get between opponent and ball, and scooped it into his control, all within one movement.
