Mr. Jack Rodwell

I think Moyes made a big mistake not using him more often, from his first 2 games it looks like he's going to be a really good signing, especially in January when Yaya is gone.

you watch - when yaya goes to the ACON, javi next to rodwell and J-rod will be unleahed as a driving midfielder in the yaya mold.

thought he was garbage today . his positional sence was all over the place.no coincedence that we`ve started leaking goals since he arrived.

A true understudy for Yaya. Physically he's got all the attributes and technically he's not far off. Probably not a popular view but for me he's a much better player than Nigel. He may not have the experience, but he's already much closer to being a complete player.

Early days of course but I've got very high hopes for him.

totally agree with you here. taller, stronger, quicker, more composed. with experience the intelligence will come
and a better passer.

Jack is a better footballer than NDJ. Jack is yet to fully develop that 'presence' that allows him to dominate his area of the pitch a la NDJ though. No doubt this will come, especially through being around Yaya and Barry.

-- Sun Sep 02, 2012 3:30 pm --

Barry best be prepared to fight for his spot cause Rodwell is the man.

Rodwell is okay. if he was a sex position he would be the missionary position. no adventure and very safe.

Gaz Baz will bend you over and fuck you up the arse. a different animal, a different class of player.

Your bizarre analogy doesn't hide the fact you can't analyse footballers well.

Rodwell seems to do something "dangerous" every now and then.

Barry did attempt a backheel last year in the CL...

And Barry couldn't loop the ball from the centre circle onto the top of his own net!

I think its a bloody disgrace that we've signed a talented young England international and he's wasting his career warming our bench and/or sat in the stands. The press and pundits were right, we're the ruination of English football.

Wait a minute. He's what? Played in all 3 games so far? Oh

Thought he was brilliant on Satuday. Definitely my MOTM. Looked composed on the ball and played it round nicely.

He almost scored own goal of the season as well!

qaulity young lad and we have finally found barry's replacement when he decides enough is enough!

Quality player. I think he will only get better. Played very well on Saturday.

Some RAGs that I know are singing the you signed Rodwell and they signed RVP song.

Daft Cnuts

From where I was I didn't think his yellow was deserved, I thought he won the ball cleanly. Then again, that ref has form.

Was it a yellow?

We really must stop calling him J-Rod. Not one bit cool.

Many sources mention the presence of a being, called J-Rod, at Area 51. There are two main theories with regard to who J-Rod is. Most sources claim J-Rod is an extra-terrestrial, a Grey to be more precise, and most likely from Zeta Reticulum (though it isn't clear whether he'd be a tall grey or not). He would have been part of an exchange programme (See Crystal Knight and Serpo), and his main task here would have been here to provide our scientist with knowledge.

Just gonna say that till I saw your post, saved me the bother... cheers...

But as a footnote I think rodders is quicker on the ball with potential to score more goals but give me the choice I would have Barry playing before rodwell once fit and providing he maintains his form of last year..

I didn't really know what to make of the Rodwell when we signed him, he seemed to have a lot of hype about him, but I'd never seen enough of him to form a judgement. Everton fans didn't seem too disappointed he'd left, which wasn't encouraging (although you had to assume there was an element of vindictiveness and face saving from them) but I was willing to make my own call wnehn I'd seen enough of him.

I haven't seen enough yet to form a complete, final view of how well he'll fit in with our side, however initial signs are certainly encouraging. He looks composed on the ball, doesn't get rushed or respond poorly when under pressure, his passes are good, nothing spectacular, very economical with his distrubution, but he gives the ball to our danger men and lets them do the damage. He's also not afraid to put in a tackle, the one he was booked for against QPR was a cracking effort and not even remotely a foul, yet alone a bookable one. There are some negatives though, he does look prone to a mistake or two, although he is only 21 so that's to be expected. He also seems to prefer the sideways or backwards pass a little too much for my liking, I'd prefer a 10 yard forward pass on occasion. All things considered though it's been a good start to his City career, very early days still, but I'm pleasantly surprised with how well he seems to have settled in. Once Barry is fit, and now we've got Javi Garcia, it'll be interesting to see how his game time is affected.
