Bump, funny to compare comments about Rodwells debut and his latest performance.
 
All Rodwell has managed to so far is make mistakes ......., he's a bit in the Savic mould right now , and he's cost us goals

He seems to get his act together a bit after he's made a mistake,yet he appears unable , at present , to cut them out .....

he'll learn , or it'll beat his own peril!
 
I guess nerves got the better of the young lad, his first CL game, bet he's been dreaming of that day for a long time. has the makings of a great CM in time but think we should bed him in in the less pressure games, some young players handle nervres, some make shocking mistakes, he will learn to control them

Honestly I don't care about the mistake, I care that he did nothing but pass it back to Nastasic, Kompany or Hart all game. anyone on MCFC analytics able to get his passing stats for this game?

Thats what Mancini told him to do, watch before he went on, Mancini is telling him to stay back and keep it simple.

He gives no such instructions to Barry does he?
Our team relies on our CM's to be able to spray the ball around. Even de jong has a decent passing range.

Rodwell is better going forward than he is in the holding role, he has bags of talent

This I believe. But he needs to step up. Those mistakes are unacceptable.
 
Still think he can be a great player for us. He was nowhere near ready for wednesdays game though (too young, too inexperiened, not settled). Anyone taking glee at how poorly he did or lacking in confidence he was coming into a tough game half way through against a fucking brilliant dortmund side needs to get a grip. Mancini should have known better to put him in

Rodwell might need taking out of the firing line for a short while now
 
Excluding the couple of mistakes he's made, i dont think hes done that bad. The problem with him has always been staying fit enough to get a run of good games where he doesn't mess up.
 
Bar the odd mistake I think he's done well. His passing for the most part is spot on. I think Mancini seems him as a long term Yaya replacement.
 
I have an issue with taking an inexperienced player from Everton's squad - a reserve there -and giving him the responsibility to produce the goods in the biggest of games against the strongest of opposition, especially when there are other experienced players available.
If he wasn't English, he would have been crucified for the mistakes he's made - just like Savic was. He's got off very, very lightly so far.

To me he's just as bad! - I shit myself every time he's on the ball now just like i do when i see savic anywhere near it!

Yes he's a "good" player supposedly and one for the future, but twice in only a handful of games he's put it on a plate for the opposition to score and both times the opposition obliged!

Against Dortmund they totally out classed us, and Joe kept us in the game, and if rodwell hadn't slotted a lovely through ball to one of the Dortmund lads to score from it's possible we would have gone away with all the points from that game!

On the topic of new "talent" what are peoples thoughts on Sinclair, other than wanting to rim his misses i don't really know much about him and haven't seen him play that much either
