Did it not come from that guy who does an alternative commentary for the highlights of City games on Twitter? Heard him use the term Mr Whippy when he curled one in against Palace last month.

There's something proper old school about these, like if Frank Sidebottom was doing meme social media stuff. Mr Whippy could be from a Kippax fanzine circa 1982, but it's doing the rounds on a Twitter account. Good stuff.
