What a surprise with The Roses love in at the moment.

the Bee Gees are , by a million miles , THE greatest Manchester band in that table, even though they were actually born in the Isle of Man ...... the Stone Roses aren't even fit to lace their boots!

Mark Collins the guitarist is from Manchester. Tim Burgess is from Manchester but moved to Northwich where he met Steve Harrison, the owner of Omega records (think it was called Omega records). Steve Harrison put him in touch with Blunt, Collins and Brookes who were all from the Midlands after their original singer left. Then the original guitarist left and Collins came in after the 1st album.
So two of them are Mancs, they were based in Manc most of their career and have a big Manc following.

New Order are the greatest Manchester band. The Bee gees were good song writers and producers but were hardly original.
New Order were true pioneers and Bernard Sumner is Manchester's greatest musical product.
