Muffin or Barm

Certainly was and should always have been Lancashires leading City, that red rose on our shirts ain’t just for show.
That’s the Duke of Lancaster rose.

Doesn’t really have owt to do with Lancashire never mind Manchester. John of Gaunt, whose emblem it was, was born in Flanders, lived in Warwickshire, Leicestershire and London, died in Leicestershire and is buried in London.

Don’t know if he ever even set foot in Lancashire or Manchester.

The red rose of Lancaster is a historic emblem representing the House of Lancaster and the county of Lancashire adopted in the 15th century, makes no odds who set foot where :-)
