Muffin or Barm

This is the north/south divide. North Manc it's muffin, South Manc it's a barm.

I'm a North Manc and have always called it a Barmcake.... but then again i live in Atlanta now so WTF do i know :-)

The wife originates from North Manc and calls it a muffin - I have allowed her to come and live in Leigh with me only on the basis that she now calls them Barms!!!!
