Muffin or Barm

That's because they are muffins and proper lancs oven bottom muffins which are THE best and obviously wasted on you. You stick to barmcakes pal.
An admission at last. From Friday to Thursday, it’s been like a procession with on here.

Independence Day on Friday.
Silence over the weekend.
The final throes of a dying beast early in the week.
A doodle of a man with a box on his head.
A YouTube video with pictures of chocolate chip muffins.
A picture of some items that not of us are talking about referred to as muffins.
An admission from a Muffinite that barm cakes are a thing.

This has been quite easy for the Barmsters when the Muffinites are helping.

Kind of like that home game that City lost 1-0 despite not conceding a single shot on goal.

Muffins are NOT bun cakes with currents and chocolate in, and their origin is definitely not USA. Anybody arguing this should be thread banned!

I've eaten many muffins, I've eaten many barms. I've eaten many buns passed off as muffins. A barm is another name for a bread bun. Barm, bap, stottie, cob, batch, teacake etc. It all depends where one lives in the UK.

However, a proper English Lancashire oven bottom muffin cannot be confused with any of the above. It is unique and a gastronomic bread pleasure.

You sound like you've never eaten a proper muffin so how can you argue the toss? I suggest you have one pal then get back to me. Buy half a dozen and fill with chips, ham, cheese corned beef or whatever else. Buttered of course, margerine is only fit for cakes and @mancityvstoke; )

Muffins are sold in shops and market stalls throughout the Gtr Manchester area. Try one and then argue that a barm is better than a muffin.

No contest.

Flora I’m on a diet you ****

I always thought an English Muffin was these things that you toast and put butter and jam on, for breakfast.

You know the things. Even McDonalds the epitome of 'Murica sell an Egg McMuffin.
Or are they crumpets?

Muffin/Crumpet?

Is that the sort of thing you put chips on.

Or is it a Bap, Blaa, Barm? A Butty.

Seems to me they are two different things.

I'm just confused as to which your chippies sell with chips in them.
