Muffin or Barm

It is a Muffin

Only in the USA does a muffin have chocolate chips in not proper chips like here in the U.K.
That’s not true though is it?

Any food shop that you can visit today will likely store chocolate chip muffins.

Lying doesn’t win a debate.

Americanisation of asdas or Morrisons doesn't count

Muffin

Chip muffin...no chocolate
Roy’s cafe on Coro, Tony’s Stadium Chippy, Maine Road Chippy, Bluemoon Chippy on Claremont Road, cafe on Portland Street.

Barms one and all. A comprehensive list I’m sure everyone will agree.

The fact that you say the correct, long standing, Mancunian abbreviation of Coronation Street - “Coro” - and not that stupid adaptation of the rest of the country started saying - “Corrie” - tells me you know what you’re talking about; and you’re quite correct...

Barm, it is!

As I’ve always seen it: South Manchester, Salford, central Manchester, some (not all) of the closest areas to the North and East of the city centre - Barm.

The closer you edge to Yonnerland, and people to the North and East of the city centre who are more influenced by Yonnerland - Muffin.
