Barm cake, every time.

When such a previously esteemed fella such as Ric can quite reasonably and without hesitation post on an internet forum that a 'Barm cake' wins over a muffin every time, one can only conclude that this country, perhaps the entire world, has gone to the dogs. Furthermore, I would venture to suggest that there is no hope of getting back to some form of normality.

A truly sad day.

ooohhhh baby that thick green warbies bread is amazing! toast the bread, slap a heart stopping amount of butter on both slices then place the chips down in regimental style, add sauce if required!
Please tell me you are not really advocating 'chips on toast' ! That is beyond wrong.
Re: Barm or Muffin

toast is surprisingly good for any sandwich. A particular delicacy is toast, cheese and onion crisps, cheese, ham and red sauce (that's tomato ketchup for you Toffs). Spectacular

My friend, I despair that so many people on here share your deluded views on "muffins". As has been pointed out, muffins contain chocolate chips, not real chips. I always assumed a "chip muffin" was a southern thing, pronounced in a lardy-da accent with your intonation rising slightly at the end of the phrase.

It'll be a sorry day for Bluemoon when the "muffin" believers are in the majority. Barm cakes, for the win.

As for chips on toast, I ask yer...

Re: Barm or Muffin

I have a theory that barm is south Manchester and muffin is north Manchester, can anyone confirm?
