Muffin or Barm

Always thought you where an intelligent person, not like some heathens we have posting on here.
Their best argument is that Khaldoon, obviously not born and raised in Ancoats, said it was a muffin - completely ignoring all City chippys, Roy’s Rolls and almost every sandwich shop/cafe in the city centre.

Just been to the chippy, sat outside in the Sun, pudding chips and curry sauce... fella came outside, “do you want a barmcake or owt with that?!”

When the custodian of an establishment like that confirms it, it’s definitely a barm!

Sheldons, masterbakers of the finest muffins since 1849. Beyond the delightul with back bacon, runny egg and Daddies.

Hard to argue against the true when stares you in the face ain't it. Mind you I'm sure some wag who's from elsewhere in the country will soon photo shop the Lancashire oven bottom Barm. But we know the truth.

Did he fetch you a tiny stale thing out, you should have asked for a muffin like we do round Manchester.

The Old Girl's family from Nottingham call anything thats not a sliced loaf a 'cob'.
Despite having such a general purpose name the Snotts can be trained by the discerning Mancunian palate to use the correct term 'barm cake'.
