When I told my mates today that some people refer to a chip BARM as a chip muffin, you should have seen the horror on their faces. It's a barm people, behave with the madness.

Yer right: oven-bottom or declerque muffins are muffins, everything else is pansy-talk. "Barm" lol. Some people are dead posh, probably use tea-bags as well ;-).

I think this thread needs correcting, it's a bap!

Go in the corner, turn round and think about what you have just said! *angry*

maybe this is a north/south thing and nothing circular?

[to get this magnificent link to work you'll have to add the last bracket yourself, a hand job, as I can't get it to stay in the html]

to our American cousins who put sugar in a muffin and bake some sickly sweet crumbly cake, read 'English Muffin' like the ones you see in the frozen section of your supermarket with the Lender's bagels.

looks alot like bagels from that angle!

Look at the label. Oven bottom muffins. That's where they belong, in the bottom of the oven, not worthy to be filled with chips like a fresh, tasty BARM. Evening tueartsboots.

Whats Barm ... I know what muffins are but I keep seeing pics of what appears to be pancakes/biscuits! :D
