Munchen

I was thinking about doing another Christmas market this year,and after a bit of research on the net,i narrowed it down to Nuremberg and Munchen.Just wondered if anyone had been to either place.Munchen looks like a lovely city and the surrounding area's very nice as well.

was looking at going to the beer festeval next year but me thinks that it may well be expensive

14 of us went to Munchen earlier this year for my 21st and had a superb time!
We stayed in at the Holiday Inn Schwabing which is like the student quarter (loads of bars and resturaunts). The town centre is nice and the Munchen underground is really reliable, you can get the underground to the Allianz Arena which is well worth a look!

And of course the Munchen beer is probably the best around...Augustina and Pauliner are two which are locally brewed and two of the best IMO!

cheers for that.Probably be the week before Christmas when we venture over there.The Paulaner beer is very nice,got well hammered on that stuff in Cologne last Christmas!

I went to the the Oktoberfest in 2003 and 2004 for 5 days each. Munchen's a great place apart from the park in the city centre which is prone to having naked blokes swinging their tackle around in full view!
